Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), North Tripura, located at Panisagar under the administrative control of the Department of Agriculture & F.W., Govt. of Tripura, is dedicated to empowering the farming community through frontline agricultural extension, training, and technology dissemination.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between research and field-level application by bringing the latest innovations, technologies, and best practices to the doorstep of farmers, farm women, rural youth, and extension personnel.

What We Do:

On-Farm Testing (OFT): Assessing and refining agricultural technologies under real farm conditions.
Frontline Demonstrations (FLD): Showcasing improved practices and technologies in farmer fields.
Capacity Building: Organizing skill-based training programs for farmers, farm women, rural youth, and extension workers.
Advisory Services: Providing timely technical guidance and problem-solving support across crops, livestock, horticulture, and allied sectors.
Technology Dissemination: Promoting integrated and climate-smart agricultural practices tailored for the agro-ecological conditions of North Tripura.

On-farm testing of new technologies – Testing locally-suited improved crop varieties, integrated farming systems, and agronomic practices on its own farm before wider dissemination
Front-line demonstrations – Showcasing innovative technologies directly on farmers’ fields to illustrate benefits and encourage adoption
Capacity building – Organizing training programs, workshops, and farmer-scientist interactions to enhance knowledge of modern farming, livestock rearing, horticulture, aquaculture, etc. .
Advisory services – Providing personalized guidance via field visits, ICT tools (mobile), and extension literature
Support for allied sectors – Engaging in fishery, horticulture, veterinary care, agronomy and more, helping small/marginal farmers diversify income
Promoting remunerative & climate-smart agriculture – Advocating for sustainable methods, dietary diversifications, and cropping systems aligning with local needs
